With a strong academic background in languages and over four years of tutoring experience, I specialize in English Language and Literature comprehension, interview preparation, and conversational English. My approach blends academic rigour with creativity and a deep understanding of linguistics, helping students express themselves confidently in both formal and social contexts. I have also developed bespoke courses to prepare students for entry into top UK independent schools.
I currently tutor students in English comprehension, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, and exam preparation through BE Education and Shanghai Young Direction Information Consulting Co., Ltd. In collaboration with Young Direction, I designed and teach a course titled Interview and Social Preparation, aimed at improving students’ fluency and confidence for school interviews and daily conversation. This course has since developed into a comprehensive ESL programme covering reading, writing, speaking, and listening. My lessons are highly personalized, incorporating activities like debates, presentations, interview simulations, and sales pitches to encourage natural communication and self-expression. I also create educational content and represent academic companies, which informs my approach to lesson planning and material development.
Previously, I founded Imperial Jade Yunnan Specialists Ltd. (2021–present), a sustainable luxury coffee brand, through which I gained experience in branding, marketing, and pitching to diverse audiences. From 2021 to 2024, I worked as Cellar Manager and Front of House Assistant at The Bricklayers Arms in Chipstead, where I managed customer service, stock control, and team training, strengthening my leadership and communication skills. Earlier, in 2017, I held content and marketing roles at Boatbookings Yacht Charter and Oorikas, working on brand strategy, content creation, and educational material development.
My lessons focus on building students’ confidence and linguistic intuition through tailored, interactive instruction. I use a proactive and adaptive teaching approach that integrates language skills with students’ personal interests.
Through engaging activities and a strong teacher-student rapport, I encourage learners to communicate freely and naturally. My aim is to help students become not only academically proficient, but also expressive and confident in real-life English use.
